Why do loyal members visit MySpace?
To post comments with cute glitter graphics, get cool friends, browse other’s profiles, listen to music, keep pimping that MySpace layout, laugh at MySpace comedy, watch MySpace video, look at hot chicks’ pages (MySpace is the best disguised safe-for-work SFW p0rn site on the internet).

Two numbers about MySpace which should give wet dreams to any advertising executive:
members in 2005: 20 million
members in 2008: 225 million and growing

So the quote from Sergey Brin of Google in January might sound surprising: “Hadn’t found the best way to monetize the social networks.”

But it is not surprising to those who understand MySpace and social networking addicts.
Why would members click on ads which will take them away from MySpace? It is like going to the movies getting some pop corn and and leaving through the back door after a few minutes.

The only advertisements MySpace addicts will click on are to sites which offers glitter graphics or glitter text, more MySpace layouts, code generators, fun widgets more MySpace stuff!

The people have spoken: we might be addicts but we are not stupid MySpace addicts!!! Google agrees!
